Summative Assessment
Using “GRASPs” from Understanding by Design (Wiggins & McTighe)
•Goal: To perform a presentation of your understanding of Making the PYP Happen in the Classroom.
•Role: You are a school group that has just gone through a workshop on the MTPYPH.
•Audience: Your fellow workshop attendees.
•Situation: The administrators are requesting a brief presentation of what MTPYPH is all about. They want to send a group of teachers, but want to be sure it is worth the $.
•Product: Your school group will collaboratively develop a presentation for the group of administrators that will persuade them that it is worth the $$.
•Your presentation must include one of the following:
✓The beliefs and values of the PYP.
✓Essential Elements
✓Best Teaching Practices
✓Transdiciplinary Learning
✓A school as a Community of Learners
•Standards (criteria) for Success: Presentation should be no longer than 5 minutes. ALL members of group must contribute and participate in the presentation in some way. You may choose a strategy to use when you present (visual, chart, drama, music, etc.).
